We bought a crib

Eric: After browsing the limited baby furniture at The Bay this afternoon, we were almost ready to buy the Gluckstein Lifetime crib, as it was 50% off during a Baby Week event. Unfortunately, they were out of stock so I stood in the department store trying to find reviews of this make of crib on my phone, but couldn't find any.

Noting that the assembly directions said the crib was made by Dorel Industries of Quebec, we headed back to our car. When we flipped open Baby Bargains to the page about Dorel, we discovered they've had a terrible track record and were rated with an F.

Next stop: Babies R Us (again)!

Flick: In the end, we settled on the Graco Sarah 3-in-1 Convertible Crib in Espresso. Cheap and cheerful, it came highly recommended by Baby Bargains, with a great name to boot! It also rated highly on amazon.com. After checking it out at Babies R Us, we discovered that Sears sells it online for the same price and only charges $12 for delivery! Done. Now we need to find a mattress and some bedding.

Total cost: $219 + $12 shipping + $3 handling + tax

Eric: Baby Bargains recommends the Colgate Classica I as their top foam mattress. I'm trying to find a Canadian retailer for it and have made an inquiry with Mother Hubbard's Cupboards.
