At a Loss for Words

Gabe's vocabulary is pretty rich, and he amuses us regularly by combining words he knows to describe concepts or things he hasn't come across before.

Tonight, at our local burger joint, he noticed the checkerboard paper liner on his tray and said:
It's a soccer blanket 'special for the food!

    The black and white checkerboard pattern must resemble the black and white dots on a soccer ball to him. And he doesn't know any other word for a flat sheet.
