Tracking Baby Statistics

Back in 2003, when the Trixie Update blog was launched, I remember being impressed about the obsessive collection of data about the author's newborn. Every single diaper change, every single feeding, sleep times, etc. was diligently entered, and a variety of charts were produced. The web app aims to help new parents uncover patterns in their baby's behaviours.

Shortly after, the author made Trixie Tracker available on a subscription basis. The idea is that you enter information about sleep schedules,
diaper changes, bottle and breastfeeding, solids, pumping, milk inventory and medicine doses. The site will them make wonderful graphs for you to stare it. Or, to show your pediatrician or lactation consultant.

I am totally in love with the idea of using this, especially since it's a mobile web app so we could use it from our smartphones and soon-to-be-purchased iPad. But will we have the stamina and perseverance to keep it updated? I have to convince Flick!

  1. I used one of these apps for a while! It totally rocked for me to figure out what to do every day. I learned when I needed to think NAP and more importantly when he will wake up...I was able to make sure that I was some where i could nurse and change a diaper! I swear that this app allowed me to leave the house knowing that I could do a bit of planning!
