How Many

I was quite excited to use the Trixie Tracker web site to record information about our baby. I actually started shortly after he was born in the hospital. But Flick asked me, quite rightly, "Why do we want this data?" It really just satisfies the information geek in me, to be able to see the statistics and charts presented nicely. So I stopped after the first two days.

After last night's visit, we had a good reason to start up again: our midwife wanted to track his feedings and diapers to ensure he was getting nourished properly.

Here's a sample of what the charts look like:

It's really not that hard to record when he poops or feeds, but I find it much harder to track sleeping. The service is designed as a mobile web site, so it works fine on our phones albeit with a limited interface. But on a desktop or even the iPad, it looks much much better and shows a lot more information.

Perhaps when he's older, it will be useful to track solid foods for any potential allergic reactions, etc. We're still on the two-week trial and don't know whether we'll become subscribers after that ends.
